I am Dr. Karon Schnitzer, and it is with great pleasure that I w
elcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Pacific Beach Elementary School! I am delighted to welcome back our returning Penguin families and extend a warm greeting to those joining our PBE community for the first time.
As we begin another exciting year together, we are filled with gratitude and pride as we reflect on the incredible milestones we celebrated during the 2025–2026 school year. Together, we marked the completion of our long-awaited campus modernization project, creating beautiful, innovative learning spaces for our students. We also achieved the distinguished honor of becoming a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, a recognition that reflects our collective commitment to empowering every student to lead, learn, and grow. These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of our students, families, staff, and community partners, and they have laid an incredible foundation for the future. Our dedicated staff has spent the summer preparing classrooms, designing engaging learning experiences, and collaborating to ensure every student feels welcomed, supported, and inspired from the very first day of school. At PBE, we believe every child has unique strengths and limitless potential. We are committed to fostering academic excellence while empowering students to take ownership of their learning, strengthen their leadership skills, and build confidence in themselves.
Together, we will continue to cultivate a school culture where every student feels a sense of belonging, purpose, and pride. As we look ahead, I know the 2026–2027 school year will bring even more opportunities to learn, grow, and celebrate new milestones together. Thank you for your continued partnership and trust.
